
Since Transmanche Ferries / LD Lines took over the running of the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry, they have made significant improvements in the reliability and punctuality of the service. All scheduled departures now take into account tidal fluctuations. In addition the introduction of two new vessels on the route ensures maximum comfort on the crossing from Newhaven to Dieppe.
The Côte d’Albâtre and the Seven
Sisters, both launched in 2006, are
capable of speeds of up to 22 knots (more than 40 km/h). They are equipped with
ultra-modern stabilizers and therefore offers optimum comfort whatever the
sailing conditions.
Transmanche Ferries Onboard Shopping - There is a well stocked shop
offering a range of alcohol, cigarettes, perfumes and gifts at very competitive
prices. All prices are in both sterling and euros and all items can be
purchased with credit cards. On decks 6 and 7, there are machines for currency
exchange.
Transmanche Ferries Restaurants and Bars - The restaurant is located in the centre of the boat on deck 6, serving a full range of tasty meals and snacks. The bar on deck 7 affords panoramic views across the channel. Here, you can by hot and cold drinks, light snacks and newspapers.
Transmanche Ferries Lounges - the spectacular lounge on deck 6 is the place to relax. The vast windows (2 decks high) give you an amazing view of the channel. On decks 6 and 7 there are further lounges where you can relax or watch Sky broadcasts in comfortable airline-style seating. On deck 6 there is a soft play area for small children along with a video games are for the older ones.
Transmanche Ferries Cabins - There are 50 cabins on deck 6, all en-suite. Some are "4 berth inside" - these have no windows. Some are "4 berth outside" - these have windows. There are also "single commodore cabins" - these are comfortably large enough to accommodate a very close couple. In all cases, cabins are booked for your exclusive use - you never have to share a cabin with a stranger.
