Can I travel to France without a valid Passport?

No. You must have a valid Passport (or EU ID card) to travel between the U.K., Ireland and France and between France and the U.K. and Ireland. For those from outside the EU, you should have a valid Passport - please ensure that you have the correct Visas if required. Driving licences are not accepted as a means of identification for travel.

How long before departure should I make my booking?
|
You should make your booking as early as possible. This will ensure that you get the very cheapest fare available. You will also have a wider choice of cabin types

Why has the price increased since the last time I checked it?
|
LD Lines operate a fluid pricing system. This means that the earlier you book, the lower the fare will be. There are no special last-minute discounts and you will not receive any special offers by waiting to book your crossing just before departure.

How long before departure do I have to check in?
|
Check-in usually opens 90 minutes prior to departure. It closes, promptly, 45 minutes before departure. You can arrive at any time within these two limits. The ferry operator reserves the right to deny boarding to anyone who arrives within 45 minutes of departure. If you are taking a pet, please arrive early in order for all of your paperwork to be checked.

There are only 2 of us travelling and there is only a 4 berth cabin avaliable, Do I have to share?
|
No. When you book a cabin, you have exclusive use of it for you and your party. You never have to share with a stranger.

I have already used the outward half of my ticket. How can I change the return journey?
|
Unfortunately, once you have embarked on your journey, you can not make the amendment online. We can make this change on your behalf. Please contact us on 0845 224 5603.

I have booked the legs of my journey the wrong way round. How can I change this?
|
Please contact us on 0845 224 5603 and we can make the change on your behalf. This will involve a minimum cost of 10 pounds; administration fee plus any additional costs associated with the changes.This is why it is very important to check that your booking is correct before proceeding to confirm it.

I want to take a pet. What paperwork do I need?
I want to take a pet. What are the facilities on board?
All pets travel in your vehicle on crossings between the U.K. and France. You can, with special permission visit your pets on the car deck. However this is not allowed an hour after departure and an hour before arrival.
For the longer ferry crossings from Ireland there are limited kennel spaces (9 in total - 5 large and 4 smaller ones) available for pets. No pet will be allowed on the passenger decks but you will be able, with the permission of staff onboard, to visit your pet during the crossing.

Do I have to book a cabin?
|
No. You do not have to book a cabin but you may find the 20 hour crossing far more comfortable if you do. Your ticket includes the price of a standard pre-booked seat should you decide not to take a cabin and there are shower facilities available on-board.

How do I book a cabin?
|
Simply enter the number of cabins you require when making your reservation. DO NOT enter the number of people in your party in this area as this will result in booking multiple cabins and a vastly inflated fare.

I have changed my vehicle. What should I do?
|
If you have changed your car / van / motorhome / motorcycle and it is within the same size constraints as your original booking, you need take no further action other than advising the staff at check-in. If your vehicle is larger or, for example, if you are taking a van instead of a car, you will need to amend your booking (click here) and you will be charged the difference between your original quote and the new one along with a 15 euro administration fee

Will I receive tickets by post?
|
No. LD Lines is a ticketless carrier. You will receive your confirmation by email. The only information you need to check-in is your LD Lines reference number but you can, if you wish, take a print out of your confirmation email to take along with you.

Can I cancel my reservation and get a refund?
|
No. All tickets are non-refundable once booked. You can, however, make an amendment to your booking. We recommend that you take suitable travel and/or cancellation insurance.

What is "Mix and Match"?
|
By "Mix and Match" we mean you can travel, for example, from Rosslare to Le Havre with LD Lines and, if you so wish, return from Le Havre to Rosslare with Celtic Link or Irish Ferries. You don't have the facility to do this on many other websites!

How long is the corssing from Rosslare to Le Havre?
|
he crossing from Rosslare to Le Havre takes 20 hours. It runs once per week in each direction. Departing Rosslare every Sunday morning at 01:00hrs and departing Le Havre to Rosslare every Friday night at 23:59hrs.

Can I reserve more than one vehicle on a single reservation?
|
No. You will have to make multiple reservations. If you want to make sure that there is availability before making any reservations, we recommend that you call us first.

I have a different number of passengers travelling out and back. What should I do?
|
You will need to make two one way bookings for your journey.

I want to take a bicycle. How should I do this?
|
Sorry, but at the moment foot passengers/cyclists are not accepted on the Rosslare to Le Havre route.
